The membership of AACAAS elects both its Officers and Directors yearly. Alabama is broken into three (3) membership districts and each district is represented by two (2) directors elected from within the district. Elected directors serve a two-year term on the AACAAS Board. Each year the AACAAS secretary is elected from the membership and becomes part of the Officer Team. It is ensured each district is represented in the Officer Team.​​
